Maple Leaf Bowl
I find immense satisfaction in working with form, texture—including appliqué—and color. Pottery opens the door to all of this for me. I recently completed a series exploring these aspects. The first piece in this series was the Turquoise Moon Vase. This is the second example: my Maple Leaf Bowl. The bowl is approximately 7 ¼ inches wide by 4 ¼ inches tall. It is glazed with a rich blue Azure Dream glaze on the inside, while the maple leaves are all a mix of Shino glazes.
The Maple Leaf bowl is a combination of Shino and Azure glazes. The Maple Leaf shapes are appliquéd.
